15 Days Best Kenya / Tanzania / Zanzibar Beaches – MAE 0093

Day 1: Nairobi

Arrive at JKI airport. You will be met by Marsha Afrika Expeditions representative and transferred to Hotel Boulevard for overnight; bed and breakfast.

Day 2: Nairobi – Lake Nakuru

Breakfast and leave for Lake Nakuru via the Rift valley in time for lunch from a budget hotel. Afternoon drives and bird watching around Lake Nakuru, seasonal home to millions of flamingoes and a multitude of other species. Dinner and overnight at Lake Nakuru Lodge/ Merica hotel or similar.

Day 3: Lake Nakuru – Masai Mara

Early breakfast and leave for Masai Mara. Drive south along the Great Rift Valley to Narok Transit Hotel in time for lunch. Arrive Mara in time for a late afternoon game drive. Dinner and overnight at Mara Sopa lodge/ Mara Keekorok or similar. (Optional balloon safari for US$ 425).

Day 4: Masai Mara National Park

Early morning game drives before breakfast and after breakfast spend the day on game viewing and packed lunches. Masai Mara -Afternoon game viewing drives in this finest game reserve. Masai Mara the vast, open grasslands of the Serengeti-Mara are home to over 3 Million large mammals. These include over 1.4 million wildebeest, which migrate in an enormous, straggling herd each year between the southern parts of the Serengeti to the northern part and back again.

On our morning and afternoon game drives in the Masai Mara we have a very good chance of seeing the entire major. Plains animals including lion, leopard, buffalo, elephant, rhino, hyena, cheetah, jackal, warthog and many species of antelope. In this area we also encounter and learn about the Masai, a proud tribal people struggling to preserve their traditions in the face of modernization. Dinner and overnight at Mara Sopa lodge/ Nyumbu tented camp or similar.

Day 5: Masai Mara – Nairobi

Early morning game drive, breakfast and leave for Nairobi on packed lunches or en route from a hotel. Arrive late afternoon in time for dinner and overnight at Hotel Boulevard.

Day 6: Nairobi – Amboseli National Park

Depart in the morning and drive south to Namanga, the Kenya/Tanzania border to arrive in time for lunch. After lunch enter into Amboseli National Park. Amboseli National Park is located at the foot of Mt. Kilimanjaro, Africa’s highest mountain. The snows of the mountain form a majestic backdrop to one of Kenya’s most popular spectacular displays of wildlife – lion, elephant, leopard, rhino, cheetah, buffalo and host of plains game, creating Kenya’s most sought after photographer’s paradise. Meals and overnight at Sopa lodge or Kibo Tented camp.

Day 7: Amboseli – Arusha

Breakfast and leave for Namanga border where you collect your Tanzania visas to connect public shuttle bus to Arusha. Arrival in time for dinner and overnight at Arusha Crown Hotel.

Day 8: Arusha – Serengeti

Early morning game drive, breakfast and leave on packed lunches for Serengeti National Park. There are an incredible number of animals in this vast game park. Wildebeest is most popular followed by zebras.

Elephant is notably scarce. Cheetahs and the rest of the big cats are regularly sighted in the plains. The few remaining endangered black rhino are restricted at the Moru Koppies area. The park is also famous for the wild-beast migration, often described as the most impressive spectacle in the world. Arrive in time for lunch. Afternoon proceed for a game drive. Dinner and overnight at the Serengeti Wildlife/ Sopa lodge.

Day 9: Serengeti National Park

After breakfast leave for game drives in Serengeti National Park on packed lunches, Africa’s most popular game reserve. There are an incredible number of animals in this vast game park. Morning and afternoon game drives. Dinner and overnight at the Serengeti Wildlife/ Sopa lodge.

Day 10: Serengeti – Ngorongoro Conservation Area

After breakfast proceed to Ngorongoro Conservation Area on packed lunches. Ngorongoro Conservation Area’s central feature is the Ngorongoro Crater, one of the largest intact caldera in the world and one of the most spectacular sights in Africa.

The Olduvai Gorge in the neighborhood is the site where some of Africa’s oldest hominid fossils were found. The Crater has the most predator population in Africa. Elephant, lion, zebra, wildebeest and a host of other resident animals are to be found here. Dinner and overnight at the Ngorongoro Wildlife/ Sopa lodge.

Day 11: Ngorongoro – Arusha/ Zanzibar

Breakfast, and leave on packed lunches to Arusha to arrive in time for connection flight to Zanzibar Island to arrive in time for lunch at a hotel. Dinner and overnight at Mnarani Beach Cottages/ Ras Nungwi Hotel.

Day 12 /14: Zanzibar

Breakfast and spend the day at leisure exploring the beaches. Your days in Zanzibar can be spent shopping or snorkeling or simply absorbing the magic of the location. Dinner and overnight at Mnarani Beach Cottages/ Ras Nungwi Hotel.

Day 15: Zanzibar – Nairobi

Breakfast and leave for connection flight to Nairobi in time your next destination.

Day 1: Nairobi City

Arrival in Nairobi airport, are picked and transferred to Hotel Boulevard for Overnight.

Day 2: Nairobi – Masai Mara

After breakfast, leave Nairobi for Maasai Mara Game Reserve. On arrival proceed to the campsite/lodge. After short rest, proceed for a game drive in search of black manned lions, elephants, leopards, cheetahs, buffalos and other plains game. Dinner and Overnight at Mara Sopa Lodge/ Nyumbu Tented Camp.

Day 3: Masai Mara

After breakfast, proceed for an early morning game drive. Return to camp/loge for lunch. After lunch, a further game drives. Dinner and Overnight at Mara Sopa Lodge/ Nyumbu Tented Camp.

Day 4: Masai Mara/ Nairobi- Arusha

After breakfast, leave the Mara region for Nairobi, to arrive in time for lunch, after leave for Arusha by shuttle bus to Arusha via the Namanga border town where you collect your Tanzania visa. Proceed to arrive in Blue Springs Hotel for your overnight.

Day 5: Arusha – Serengeti

Breakfast and leave on packed lunches for Serengeti National Park. There is an incredible number of animals in this vast game park. Wildebeest is most popular followed by zebras. Breakfast, picked up by the shuttle bus for departure to Nairobi. Arrival at the airport in time for departure home.

Day 1: Amboseli National Park 

After breakfast, proceed on a game drive in this park, which lies in a dried up Lake bed. There are swamps and springs fed by underground rivers from the melting snows of Mt. Kilimanjaro, which give permanent water to the wildlife. The animals seen here include lion, elephant, cheetah, buffalo, plains game and the rare Taita weaver and the gerenuk. The animals are mainly found around the Ol Kenya swamp. If the weather is clear and there is low cloud cover, you may see the peak of Mt. Kilimanjaro, which forms a beautiful backdrop to the park. The observation hill offers a view of the entire park and beyond. Dinner and Overnight at Amboseli Sopa Lodge.

Day 2: Amboseli/ Arusha – Lake Manyara

Breakfast and leave for Namanga border with game drives en route to board a public shuttle bus to Arusha, arriving in time for your departure to Lake Manyara. Have an evening game drive with Dinner and Overnight at Lake Manyara campsite.

Day 3: Lake Manyara – Serengeti

Breakfast and leave for Serengeti with packed lunches. Arriving in time for an afternoon game drives. It is possible to view all the big five. Animals here are seen in very large herds, especially wildbeest, zebra, gazelle and other antelopes. The park is one of the largest in the worlds, its animal concentration and abundance is unequaled. The annual migration of wildbeest and zebra occurs in this park in June/July. In the parks central plains there are carnivores like lion, leopard, hyena and cheetah. Day 4: Serengeti – Ngorongoro

Breakfast and proceed to Ngorongoro crater for game drives. Day 1: Nairobi

Day 2: Nairobi – Masai Mara

Depart Nairobi for the Masai Mara Game Reserve, stopping at the view point of the Great Rift Valley. Arrive in time for lunch and a late afternoon/early evening game drive in this ‘big game country’ famed worldwide for its high animal concentration, abundance and variety. Dinner and Overnight at Ol Moran Tented Camp.

Day 3/4: Masai Mara Game Reserve

Early breakfast then proceed for a full day tracking game with your guide in this park whose landscape is savannah grassland on rolling hills. Virtually every type of animal is found in the Mara, which has an extensive road, and track network, which allows excellent photography and viewing opportunities, making it the best and most visited park in Kenya. We will cater for a picnic lunch at the hippo pool. Dinner and Overnight at Ol Moran Tented Camp.

Day 5: Masai Mara – Lake Nakuru

Breakfast and leave the Mara region for Nakuru, with game drive en route. Arrival in Lake Nakuru in time for an evening game drives which has prolific bird life including flamingos, white pelicans and the marabou stock among others. Waterbuck and Cape buffalo can be seen near the shoreline. Rothschild’s giraffe and the white rhino are additional attractions among other species of plains game and cats like lion. With lunch you may spot leopard, which is rather elusive. Dinner and Overnight at Bweha Camp.

Day 6: Lake Nakuru/ Nairobi – Amboseli

Breakfast and depart for Nairobi with game drives en route, arriving Nairobi in time for lunch from a city restaurant, after proceed to Amboseli to arrive in time for an evening game drive which will reveal swamps and springs fed by underground rivers from the melting snows of Mt. Kilimanjaro, which give permanent water to the wildlife. Dinner and overnight at Kilima Camp.

Day 7: Amboseli

Breakfast and spend the day on game drives. The animals seen here include lion, elephant, cheetah, buffalo, plains game and the rare Taita weaver and the gerenuk. Day 9/10: Mombasa City

Breakfast and spend the day at leisure or you may opt to take Excursions around Mombasa at an extra cost. Dinner and Overnight at Nyali Beach International Hotel.

Day 11: Mombasa/ Nairobi – Arusha

Breakfast and leave for the airport for your flight to Nairobi arriving in time for your connecting flight to Arusha. Arrival in Arusha and will be transferred to East African All Suite Hotel for Overnight.

Day 12: Arusha / Lake Manyara

After breakfast, you will be picked up from your Arusha Hotel. Thereafter depart for Lake Manyara National Park. Arrive in time for a game drive during which a fantastic array of bird life can be seen including flamingos that breed in the Lake’s alkaline waters. The park also offers a spectacular view of the Great Rift Valley and the fig forest here is a good place to see monkeys and some of the 350 species of birds that have been recorded here. With luck, you may spot the tree-climbing lions for which the park is famous. Dinner and overnight at Lake Manyara campsite.

Day 13: Lake Manyara / Ngorongoro

An early breakfast will be followed by departure for Ngorongoro for a full day crater tour with a picnic lunch. The crater is 14.5km wide and is home to all the big five and hence the same may be seen. Hippos, cheetah, antelopes and the spotted hyena abound as well as flamingos in the crater lakes. In the evening ascend up and out of the steep and narrow crater walls for dinner and overnight at a lodge or campsite situated on the crater rim. Dinner and Overnight at Ngorongoro campsite.

Day 14: Ngorongoro / Serengeti

After breakfast, depart for the Ngorongoro Conservation area for Serengeti National Park via the pre-historic site at Olduvai Gorge, which was discovered by the famous archaeologist Dr. L.S.B .Leaky. The park covers 12,944 km2 of open plains making it one of the largest in the world.

The rocky out-crops referred to as. ‘Kopjes’ in the eastern part of the park are of scenic beauty and occasionally various cats can be seen lazing on them. The park contains very vast herds of wildbeest, zebra, gazelle and other antelopes. All meals and Overnight at Serengeti campsite.

Day 15: Serengeti National Park

Morning and afternoon game drives in the Serengeti with a lunch and leisure break at the camp in the mid afternoon. The term ‘Serengeti’ means ‘endless plains’ in Masai language. In the central plains there are carnivores like lion, leopard, hyena and cheetah.

This park is normally the scene of the annual migration of wildbeest and zebra, which occurs between the Serengeti and Kenya’s Masai Mara. Eagles, flamingo, ducks, geese, egrets, vultures, secretary birds, ibis, stork, heron, kite pelican, crane and guinea fowl are among the birds that can be seen in the park. All meals and Overnight at Serengeti campsite.

Day 16: Serengeti / Arusha

After breakfast, depart the Serengeti with game drive and lunch en route to arrive in Arusha in time for Dinner and Overnight at Arusha Tourist Inn.

Day 17: Arusha – Zanzibar

Breakfast and will be transferred to the airport for the connection flight to Zanzibar Island arriving in time for overnight on the coast of Zanzibar. Mnarani Beach is situated near the village of Nungwi, on the northern tip of Zanzibar. It’s located on the eastern side of the lighthouse and is a 20-minute walk along the beach from the festive bars and restaurants of Nungwi Village. Your days at Mnarani can be spent relaxing and enjoying the freedom of being able to walk on a long stretch of beach. Dinner and Overnight at Mnarani beach cottages or similar.

Day 18/19: Zanzibar

Breakfast and spend the day at Leisure exploring the beaches. If you’re after a small, intimate and reasonably priced lodge on the quieter flank of the Nungwi Peninsula, Mnarani Beach Cottages is a great option.

There is a fantastic sandy beach where you can laze about on sun lounges and develop that long-awaited golden tan. But the beach quality does vary according to the tides and time of year, so there may be times when you need to walk a short distance to the western side of the peninsula to find a better beach to swim. Dinner and Overnight at Mnarani beach cottages or similar.

Day 20: Zanzibar – Nairobi

Breakfast and leave for connection flight to Nairobi in time for departure to your next destination.
